Supporting Bees and Beekeepers in East Sussex.
Who We Are
As a local division of the Sussex Beekeepers Association and affiliated with the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA), we provide a hub for education, support, and social connection for everyone—from those simply curious about pollinators to experienced master beekeepers with dozens of hives.
Beekeeping is a practical craft, and we believe the best way to learn is by “doing.” Our association offers a year-round programme designed to keep our members informed, supported, and our colonies healthy.
☀️ Practical Training
During the summer months, we meet at our Association Apiary. These hands-on sessions allow members to open hives, observe colony behavior, and learn essential hive management skills under the guidance of experienced local beekeepers.
❄️ Education & Winter Talks
When the bees are tucked up for the winter, we stay active with indoor meetings, guest speakers, and workshops. We cover everything from disease recognition to honey processing and candle making.
📱 The WhatsApp Community
Got a question while looking inside your hive? Our active, members-only WhatsApp group is a hive of activity where you can share photos, swap advice, and get fast, friendly support from the local community whenever you need it.
🏆 The Annual Honey Show
Every September, our members showcase the fruits of their labor. It’s a highlight of our year, featuring competitive classes for honey, wax, mead, and even beekeeping photography. A brilliant day for all involved!
