Join Hastings & Rother Beekeepers’ Association

Below are the membership options and form for Hastings & Rother Beekeepers’ Association. Our membership year begins on October 1st. To encourage members to maintain continuous liability and bee disease insurance, we offer a Prompt Payment Discount for existing members who renew during the month of October. From November onwards, the standard full price applies.

Important Note on Bee Diseases Insurance (BDI):
If you renew your membership between October 1st and March 31st, your BDI cover is active immediately upon payment. However, if you fail to renew during this time and let your membership lapse, you are completely uninsured during that period. Furthermore, if you pay your premium after March 31st, BDI operates a strict 40-day waiting period before any claim can be made. This national rule is specifically designed to prevent beekeepers from remaining uninsured over the winter and only paying to join in the spring when they notice a disease and wish to make a claim. Please renew on time to ensure continuous protection for your hives!

Mid-Year Joining & Lapsed Memberships:
To provide the best value, we offer a reduced rate for new members joining between March and October (please note this fee primarily covers mandatory national affiliations). To protect the association’s funding and ensure fairness, this reduced rate is strictly for new members. Existing members whose membership lapses and who wish to renew after March 1st will be charged the full late renewal rate.
